Tonight, January 30th, at 5:00 p.m. we are going to have a set-up work night for the fitness center. We are asking anyone in the community to show up at the fitness center that is interested in helping set-up the fitness center. We have lots of equipment and a TV that was donated by the school to haul up the stairs. There will also be taco soup for supper for everyone that helps. If everyone would please pass the word so that we can get a much help as possible.

At the Horizon’s II meeting on January 16th, the discussion of the Fitness Center was discussed. The site for the fitness center will be in the city building, upstairs from the police station. We understand that it is not handicap accessible at this site, but it is a starting place so we can get the center going to build up to something accessible to everyone. Also, at this time, appoximately 9 different pieces of equipment have been donated from as far away as Rapid City. We still would like to possibly have a TV, a stereo system, exercise mats, a VCR/DVD combo for the center. If you have anything to donate to help get this project going, let us know by calling or leaving a comment. The center is planned to be opened on February 1st.

Jim and Sandy Rasmussen had an open Christmas dinner at their home this year. Anyone who had no place to go for dinner was invited. They would like to thank everyone for coming. They plan to do this next year for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Faith Community to Open Fitness Center
The Faith Horizons group has seen an interest in promoting better health for our community. For a starting block the committee would like to open a small fitness center for the community to use. Memberships will be available at a minimal cost with all proceeds going towards building a large fitness center for everyone to use and enjoy. We are asking for assistance from the community members to donate equipment for the fitness center. The center will be available flexible hours for your use. For more information or to donate a piece of equipment for the fitness center please contact: The City of Faith at 605-967-2261 or Sandy Rasmussen 967-2585.

A group of people saw a need for some of the local children. To answer the call of helping others, a group of citizens have set up an angel tree during this holiday season. Any person can take an angel from the tree which has an age and sex of a child. They then purchase a gift and bring the unwrapped package to the City Office or Chamber. At this time, most of the gifts have already been wrapped and delivered. The great thing about this project is that the community members can give to the less-fortunate without making anyone uncomfortable about accepting help. That is one of the reasons that this community is awesome to live in!
