The Faith Ambulance is trying to bring a great Christmas event back to Faith.  They are hosting the PARADE OF LIGHTS on December 2nd on Main Street in Faith.  After the parade there will be a Family Social at the Legion on Main Street.  During this time there will be events for the kids including a visit from Santa and also the Faith Horizon’s group will be presenting the visions and goals for Faith that have been set forth in the meetings.  This is a very important step for the future of Faith and we are asking all of you to be a part of it.

There are also prizes for the various floats:
1.  Most Lights
2.  Most Religious
3.  Most Original
4.  Most Humorous
We would like to encourage each business to have a float and to encourage others to also have one. Our goal is to have a minimum of 15 floats.  This would give Faith a great reputation for the parade and also encourage people to attend from surrounding communities for years to come. Line-up will be at 4:30 on Longhorn Street in front of the Faith School, and to register your float please call Hoss or Cindy at 967-2091 or Shawn at 863-2267 or email speterson@takini.net.

The Survey’s Are In!

Faith LeadershipPLENTYRemember those “FUN” pre and post surveys that the Horizons Staff had you take during Study Circles and LeadershipPLENTY?

Believe it or not - it was for a purpose!  Those pre and post surveys help us to understand how much your community learned about poverty and about leadership by your participation in those specified curriculums.

As a result, we have assembled a community profile with the results of the pre and post surveys for both Study Circles and LeadershipPLENTY.  Check out your community results by clicking on the links found under “Survey Data” on the right hand side of your community blog.

Faith School Veteran’s Day Program

Monday, November 12th, 2007

On November 9th , the Faith School presented a Veteran’s Day program for the community and local veterans.  Spencer Gossel, senior class president, was the mcee for the program and gave a warm welcome to all the guests.  The American Legion color guard presented the flags.  The 4th and 5th graders entertained the audience with, “America The Beautiful” and “My Country Tis of Thee.”  The 8th grade class gave the audience a lesson on the proper way to fold a flag and the explained to us the significance of each fold.   Next, the 6th,7th, and 8th grade boys sang a medley of the different military branches.  While the elementary students presented flags that they made to our local veterans, the high school government students gave the audience a history of each military branch.  Following the history lesson, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls sang “Welcome Home.”  The music selections were lead by music instructor Amy Wicks.

Mr. Dutton, the superintendent, gave the audience information on the letter writing program that is going on at the Faith school in the month of November.  He gave a presentation of his brother who is in Iraq and some of the things that he does over there.  Mr. Eric Bogue, also gave a presentation of a friend that is stationed overseas in Iraq.  Mr. Dutton went on to explain that all students from the Faith school will be writing a letter to military personnel that are stationed over in Iraq.  If you know anyone who is in active duty for any military branch in Iraq or elsewhere overseas and think they would enjoy letters from the Faith student’s, please contact the school with their mailing information.

Following Mr. Dutton’s presentation, the song “If You’re Reading This” by Tim McGraw was played in memory of all who died in service to our country.  The color’s were retired by the American Legion ending the program.
